Send clients proof of insurance in one link

General contractors, property managers and building owners often ask for your certificate of insurance and WSIB clearance before you start, and again when the old one runs out. Here's how to stop chasing it.

What clients usually ask for

  • A certificate of insurance showing your commercial general liability coverage and its expiry date
  • A current WSIB clearance certificate, or proof of coverage from your provincial board
  • Sometimes your trade licence and proof of auto insurance

The problem with emailing PDFs

A PDF is out of date the day your policy renews. Then the client's office asks again, the email gets lost, and payment waits until they have the new one. A link that always shows the latest dates fixes that.

How a share link works in Renewals

  • Pick the documents to share, like your liability insurance and WSIB clearance
  • Send the link, or email it from the app with a short note
  • The client sees each document's status and expiry date, and the photo if you allow it
  • When you renew, the link updates by itself. You can see when they opened it, and turn it off any time

Common questions

Is a share link as good as the certificate itself?

Many clients are happy with the link plus a photo of the certificate. Some still want the original from your insurer, so keep that handy too. The link is there so nobody has to ask twice.

Can the client see my other documents?

No. They only see the documents you put in that link. You can make a different link for each client or job.

What if I stop paying for Pro?

Links are paused, not deleted. They come back when Pro is switched on again.
